Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig is depicted at the center of the mandala and above. His thousand arms represent his ability to assist a myriad of sentient beings, and a thousand eyes indicating his ability to see all of the world's suffering. Avalokiteshvara's mantra is 'Om Mani Padme Hum'.
