Patron bodhisattva of Tibet, Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig is depicted in fine textured gold paint on a black background with a thousand arms representing his ability to assist a myriad of sentient beings, and a thousand eyes indicating his ability to see all of the world's suffering. Lama Tsongkhapa is above. Depicted below are Manjushri, and Vajrapani which form a triad with Avalokitshvara symbolizing wisdom, power, and compassion are all essential for enlightenment. Avalokiteshvara's mantra is 'Om Mani Padme Hum'.
